A very nice envelope sent by Honi. I love the colors.
End of last year Phillip sent me a nice reindeer envelope that I did not receive unfortunately (click here to see it on Phillip's blog). This is always very frustrating... So he sent me another one that this time I received. It contained a nice first part for my new FIFTY mail art call.
For the January swap I decided to continue recreating the aspect of mixed media technics with my computer.
For the first one I scan a Gelli print I made and added some digital stencils.
For the second one I used a watercolor background I painted a long time ago. And again digital stencils.
The last three ones are entirely done using digital elements.
I had so much fun working on my digital journal in 2015 that I decided to continue in 2016. For the first page I did something different. Mike Deakin, an artist that I follow on YouTube, has launched a sort of art journaling challenge that he calls Mission Inspiration. Every month he will create a "Mission" inviting people to create an art journal page using 10 prompts. He has also created a Facebook group where people can share their creations. You can access to Mike's channel here and to the Mission Inspiration Facebook group here.
The 10 prompts for January mission are the following.
As I in the mood these days to recreate in the digital world the look of mixed media technics I decided to go for this mission. And here is the page I came out with.
The collage elements I used are coming from a collage sheet I bought on Mike's Etsy store. One of the rubber stamp I used is a backround stamp from Kaisercraft. I stamped it and scanned it. The other one is a script stamp but I have no idea of where it comes from. I'm not sure I will be able to complete the mission each month but I will try.
First let me share with you the nice envelope sent by Janis Hardt to complete the November swap.
And the envelopes received for the December one (Sorry Phillip, yours has not yet arrived ....)
From Kate Riley.
From Cathleen O Rear. The envelope also contained a wonderful 3D card that I can't scan...
From Jean Wilson.I love Charlie Brown. I love this envelope.
From Chuck Myrick.
Let me wish you a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR. I hope 2016 will bring to all of us what we need to be happy.
As 2016 will be the year when I will be 50 (!) I decided to launch a new Mail Art call. Don't hesitate to participate!
